Dallas is one of the largest cities within the United States, with an abundance of diverse neighborhoods.

Dallas has a history of "tear down the old, bring in the new" and does not have many older neighborhoods. We will highlight a few of the older neighborhoods currently enjoying a rebirth.

Dallas grew during the age of the automobile and is a city built on highway transportation and large malls. However, many of the older neighborhoods were built before freeways and still retain smaller, neighborhood retail centers:

You will often see people walking the neighborhood or retail streets in these neighborhoods.

Dallas remained a relatively small city until the 1970's &1980's. The growth boom that occurred during these decades brought thousands of people from around the United States and from around the world to Dallas. This diversity has contributed to some of the unique characteristics of these neighborhoods today.
