Complete the web development process as part of a team. Your team is responsible for completing a website of at least 5 pages, presenting the site in a presentation, along with submitting a typed Site Guide.

We will number off into teams. Your team will determine the roles each team member will take on for each page: project manager, content developer/coder, and graphics developer. Each team member will take on a different role for each page. Eventually, you will have the opportunity to take on each role.

Each team will develop a website for a site of at least 3 pages, all of which will be created in Dreamweaver.

Prepare the Site Guide for your team website. Your Site Guide should include:

  • goals & objectives for the site
  • who your targeted audience is
  • your site map
    • title of each page
    • brief description of the page contents
    • navigation/linkage between pages
    • image information
    • visual details(fonts, colors, styles…)
  • project timeline and deadlines/work chart and schedule
  • mockups
  • notes from team meetings
  • maintenance plan
  • file naming format
  • information on the software used to create the site
  • team contacts (names & email addresses)
  • server details (location, instructions)

The Site Guide should contain the answers to the following questions:

  • topic of the website
  • type of website (news, advocacy, advertising)
  • sub-topics
  • key message(s)
  • audience and how your site is targeting this audience
  • affective and effective aspects of the site
  • user feedback mechanisms
  • future enhancements
  • market research- Include a minimum of 2 websites in your market research. Include the following information about these sites:
    • Web address/URL
    • What type of site is it and who is their target market?
    • Are they successful in targeting their audience?
    • Who is responsible for this page? Is it easy to locate this information?
    • What are the sections/subsections of this site?
    • Ease of navigation & usability
    • What do you like or dislike about this site?
